A Royal Wedding In Jodhpur

We went to a royal wedding in Jodhpur, our wonderful Rajasthani guide obtained an invitation for us through the bride’s family. The rituals and colors  were amazing, with many maharajahs and diplomats in attendance. There was a marvelous  procession: the groom entered on a white horse dressed in gold brocade with  many of the maharaja’s walking  beside him,  drums, horns and bells were blaring and prayers were offered. They were greeted by guests ready with marigold garlands to drape over their heads.  The men carried antique family swords wrapped in scarfs – its called peace tying. Their colorful turbans flowed down their backs and some wore beautiful turban jewels. Quiite a site…
The women were in a different area, at this wedding they celebrated separately.IMG_8012

The Wedding of Justine and Nicolo at The Church of S. Nicolo

We all knew the best was yet to come. We had flown from all over the world to share this joyous occasion and we knew it was going to be all we dreamed and more…and it was. Justine was radiant as she stepped out of the car and made her way to the church and  her Uncle Bradley looked resplendent in his uniform. Nicolo looked  handsome and happy as he waited in the church with its golden  frescos on the walls. Everyone was smiling and then the music  and the Mass began…

In Padua-the celebrations continued-Burnside becomes Magni

Padua greeted all of us warmly; we had sunny skies and perfect weather every day. We stayed in hotels across the city-all wonderful. The Burnside and Magni family’s planed cocktail receptions and parties and left time for us  to explore on our  own. Everyone seems to eat pizza, pasta and gelatos every day and are all slim, chic and smiling. It is delightful to wake up here  and pick up my  new Canon 5D Mark 2  and explore its potential.  The women  here ride their bicycles in high heels…

Venice

” This was Venice, the flattering and suspect beauty – this city, half fairy tale and half tourist trap, in whose air the arts once voluptuously blossomed, where composers have been inspired to lulling tones of somniferous eroticism.”  and where we began the romantic  wedding celebration festivities of Justine Burnside and Nicolo Magni.
