In Bridgehampton I recently photographed the first communion of Cecilia the daughter of a wonderful family from Mexico that I have known for 16 years now.
My friend Susan is the godmother and I loved this shot we captured on the trampoline. It made me realize we all need fairy godmothers…
I’m really excited to post these images. Not only because Minnie holds a special place in my heart but because turning 16 is such an exciting moment in one’s life. Everything is ahead of you – life holds so many possibilities. It’s a wonderful rite of passage and worthy of spirited celebration… and it was.

My ongoing body of work, “Still Points in a Turning World”, explores our universal cross-cultural truths: the importance of family, community, ritual and the amazing diversity of its expression.
I am looking for the grace notes, for the sense of wonder in our world and in our connections to each other.
Every day traveling allows the possibility of revelation. Don’t we all want to understand the mystery out of which we came and into which we will return.
No matter where I am, I am always happiest with a camera or three in my hands…
