I was so thrilled to receive an Honorable Mention in the Culture & Daily Life category in the 13th edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, a competition celebrating women photographers all over the world, held by the Photography Gala Awards.
The winning images were three of my favorites from my latest adventure to the Turkana region of northern Kenya.
Winners and Honorable Mentions in this year’s Julia M Cameron Awards will have their work exhibited in the 5th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography to be held in Barcelona on October 4-21, 2018.
570 women photographers from 63 countries participated in the 11th edition, collectively submitting 5,732 images. It is a huge honor to be featured alongside the beautiful work of so many great women photographers.
My images selected are from Kenya, India, Ethiopia, and the Mermaid Parade of Coney Island.
